Job Description
The Commercial Manager Display EMEA will be responsible for overseeing the growth of Booking.com's Travel Media Network across the EMEA region, focusing on driving both on-site and off-site display advertising solutions. This role involves managing a high-performing sales team, coordinating the sales process, and ensuring the seamless execution of advertising strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital media, travel, and ad sales, coupled with the ability to lead a team, streamline operations, and drive commercial success. The role reports into the Sr Commercial Manager Advertising, based in Amsterdam. Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead and manage the EMEA display advertising sales team, providing direction, mentorship, and performance management to ensure the achievement of sales targets. Oversee team workflows, prioritize initiatives, and ensure smooth coordination across departments.
- Sales Process Coordination: Develop and implement efficient sales processes to streamline interactions between clients, sales teams, account management, and ad operations. Ensure timely and successful execution of all client campaigns by coordinating resources and maintaining strong interdepartmental communication.
- Drive Sales Growth: Manage the overall sales pipeline and forecasting across the EMEA region, ensuring the team meets and exceeds quarterly sales targets for both on-site and off-site display advertising. Facilitate the development of new business opportunities and maintain high lead generation.
- Client Relationships: Oversee the team's client relationships, focusing on building and maintaining long-term partnerships with top travel and hospitality brands. Ensure the delivery of personalized, data-driven advertising solutions that meet clients' objectives and enhance ROI.
- Sales Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with senior management to define the EMEA sales strategy, set team objectives, and establish account management best practices. Ensure that high-value clients have clear account plans, including periodic business and performance reviews.
- Collaboration & Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with internal teams, including Account Management, Ad Operations, and Marketing, to ensure the seamless delivery of campaigns. Foster a collaborative culture within the team, encouraging the sharing of insights and strategies to drive growth.
- CRM and Reporting: Oversee the team's use of CRM tools to manage client accounts, ensuring accurate data entry, and providing regular performance updates to senior management. Lead efforts to optimize the CRM process, ensuring transparency and accountability within the team.
- Internal Education and Representation: Spearhead internal education initiatives on advertising solutions, conducting regular training sessions for the wider team. Represent Booking Display Advertising at partner-facing events, industry conferences, and client meetings, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives.
- Travel: Willingness to travel for client meetings, industry events, and conferences within the EMEA region.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience
- 8+ years in digital media sales, with a focus on display advertising and a preference for experience in the travel or hospitality industry.
- Proven success in managing and leading high-performing sales teams.
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of digital advertising formats (e.g., Display, Mobile, Native, Programmatic, Social, Data-driven marketing).
- Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and analytical tools (e.g., Excel).
Leadership & Strategy
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sales strategies, drive revenue growth, and maintain long-term client partnerships.
- Experience in streamlining sales processes and managing cross-functional coordination.
Communication
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to senior stakeholders and manage client relationships.
- Multilingual abilities, especially in Spanish or other EMEA languages, are a strong advantage.
